  1. In the 95th Academy Awards ceremony, ‘Naatu Naatu’ song from SS Rajamouli’s film RRR made history by becoming the first Indian film to win an Oscar for Best Original Song.   
  2. India and the US on 10 March, 2023 signed a Memorandum of Understanding on semiconductor supply chain and innovation partnership during the Commercial Dialogue 2023. 
  3. Pagalkhana, a 2018 satirical novel by renowned Hindi author Dr. Gyan Chaturvedi, has been chosen for the 32nd Vyas Samman. 
  4. YES Bank on 9 March 2023, partnered with Aadhar Housing Finance to offer home loans at competitive interest rates.
  5. Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer, Ashok Leyland, has launched an ‘All Women Production Line’ with 100 per cent female employees at its Hosur plant in Tamil Nadu. The initiative to introduce an all-women production line is to promote women empowerment and encourage them take up roles in manufacturing industry.
  6. Virat Kohli surpassed former West Indies cricketer Brian Lara to become the second highest run scorer in Test Cricket.
  7. India has been referred to as Australia’s ‘top-tier security partner’ by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese of Australia.
  8. Renowned Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) company Hindustan Unilever limited (HUL) appointed Rohit Jawa as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company on 10 March, 2023.

  10. The Union Government on 10 March, 2023 conducted its first public consultation with industry and policy stakeholders regarding the Digital India Act (DIA), which aims to replace the Information Technology Act (IT), 2000.

  15. Mount Merapi, one of the world’s most active volcanoes, erupted on 12 March 2023, spewing out smoke and ash that covered villages near the crater.
  16. American Olympic Athlete (competitive diver), Patricia Joan McCormick (Pat McCormick) who won both diving events (Springboard and Platform) at two consecutive Summer Olympics in 1952 and 1956, passed away at the age of 92 in California, USA.
